Introduction

This intensive course will enable you to complete Computing Stages 1 and 2 at the same time. You'll learn the skills required to carry out fundamental tasks and confidently operate a PC.

You'll cover various topics related to PC skills, the internet and Microsoft Word. By the end of the course youll have learnt to:

• Install and run PC software, password protect your computer, change general settings, de-fragment your hard drive and clean up computer file clutter
• Use the internet to open a web browser, visit websites and use search engines, set up and use an email account, use social media sites and Microsoft Messenger as well as make calls over the internet
• Use Microsoft Word to create and edit documents using a variety of settings and tools, as well as save and print documents.

Assessment

You'll be evaluated through informal assessments.

Entry Requirements

None. As this is an intensive course you should be confident that you'll be able to cope with the demands of the class.
