Scot Mills was already interested in drawing comics before his first MC appearance in October, 1977. His distinctive style developed over the years since then and he is due much credit for the evolving style of MC Comics in general. MC without Scot Mills would have been the same as MC without John Beers: Nothing, or nothing worth remembering. At the same time, Scot created his own outlet for his many and varied ideas with the comic medium, Ethical Comix. This series allowed not only for the development of Scot's talent and ideas, but a place for certain story content that might otherwise be excluded by MC's editorial standards (The blowjob panel in Ego Family #1 is a pretty good example). This distinction would become moot as some of the MC issues years later would be just as obscene as any Ethical title. When it came to that time, however, Scot's efforts through Ethical Comics were still supported and encouraged. What is lost to posterity now are the many titles that Scot made and are now unknown anywhere (the famous Lice#1, for instance). All of these issues are very much a part of what makes up the history of MC Comics.
