Although Cerro Torre is in many ways a more astonishing mountain than Cerro Fitzroy, the latter is the highest and most majestic of the two. When Cerro Torre vanished in clouds again after an hour the obvious next thing to do was therefore to head for Fitzroy. We managed to get there in a couple of hours after having passed some beautiful forrests and small lakes on our way. The views of the mountain, including the first one (see above) and the one from the small river (see below) were just amazing. We pitched the tent in the valley before beginning the steep stroll to the best site for Fitzroy watching, the small lake of Laguna de los Tres. |
