| Finalists announced. The final night of this contest, organised every year on the occasion of Malta's independence, will be held on the 17th of September at the Floriana Granaries and will be broadcast live on Net Television. IX-XEMX MILL-GDID, song number 5, will be Joe Julian's entry, composed by Paul Abela and sung by Eleanor Cassar. |

| WINNER IX-XEMX MILL-GDID was judged best song and won the Festival Indipendenza 2005 in front of a large crowd on the Granaries in Floriana. Joe Julian Farrugia, along with composer Paul Abela and young singer Eleanor Cassar were presented with handsome trophies by PN General Secretary Joe Saliba. |

| Salerno, Italy Joe Julian Farrugia was voted Best Lyricist in the first edition of Canzoni dal Mondo International Song Contest. The song "Tutto Quello"was sung by Graziana Axisa and composed by Sammy Galea. Singers from Italy, France, Switzerland, Lithuania, Estonia, Spain, Armenia, Russia, Bulgaria, Romania, Uzbekistan and Malta took part in the contest held in Salerno, Italy on the 17th and 18th of September. |
