"Turned on a Dime"

You said I broke your heart
You said you couldn't win,
But this time we've spent apart,
Has brought us together again.

When I think of how I hurt you,
How I just couldn't see
The way you loved me too,
I'm glad you're back with me.

Now I lie in the dark on my bed,
Feeling hapiness that words can't say
And I float away with the thought in my head
That I can love you now every day.

I said I'd never leave your side,
And after leaving it once,
I know that's where I want to reside,
To satiate our needs and wants.

When you love someone enough to say,
You want to be with them each and ev'ry day,
And you despise the thought of being alone,
You know you have found your happy home.

In the thoughts that I have seen,
I've seen what becomes of you and me.
And though a dream is just a dream,
I call 'forever' a word of glee.

I told you I'll never leave you,
As a man of my word,
And when I hear you say it too,
I feel like a flying bird.

God sure knew what he was doing,
When He thought of this thing called love,
Because when I think of where we're going,
I know what He was thinking of.

Now both of our tears have already dried,
And shall I say just in time,
Because true love is very seldom tried,
But ours has turned on a dime.
