If you guessed 17,500 est. your correct and the reason its so low is most people in Japan own a Dreamcast!12/7/02* *Shares of Sega has reached two-year lows following the company's decision to significantly revise earnings projections. Thereby, Sega cut its profit forecast for the year from 18 to 5 billion yen. Since then, shares of the company have fallen more than 41 percent and are currently trading at 875 yen per share. Sega has also been negatively impacted by a series of financial analyst downgrades and lack of sales strength from its Japanese parent company CSK. Speaking about Sega's market position, Lisa Spicer of investment firm ING said, "The forecast revision certainly spooked the market and disappointed investors. Sega has got to figure out what it is good at and start rationalising its titles. I think it will take a year or so to win back investor confidence".11/20/02* *Sega in association with Kansai MultiMedia have confirmed plans to revive several classic Sega Saturn games. Thereby, the games will be offered in an emulated format for download and use on Windows compatible PCs through Sega's Broadband Club and CyberDisc services. According to Sega representatives, Panzer Dragoon Zwei and Golden Axe: The Duel will initially be available for the service beginning later this month in Japan. While pricing remains undisclosed, Sega has advised players of some basic specifications required for playing their emulated Saturn software, which are as follows: Panzer Dragoon Zwei: Pentium 4 - 2GHZ 64MB VRAM Golden Axe: The Duel: Pentium 3 - 1GHZ 32MB VRAM For reference, Sega already offers downloadable MegaDrive games through their broadband club service in Japan. It's currently unknown whether any additional Sega Saturn games are planned for the service, but we'll keep you posted. In other news the Dreamcast release list updated again!11/14/02* *Shares of Sega continued their descent on the Japanese market today following last week's revelation regarding plans to miss financial projections for the year. Shares fell more than 6 percent today, trading at a new two year low of 950 yen. Volume on the stock has been high, with more than 10 million shares of the company trading hands daily. Following today's continued decline, Japanese investment firm Daiwa Institute of Research cut their rating on Sega from 'neutral' to 'weak' status. For reference, Sega revised net profit projections for the year from 18 to 5 billion yen last week. The substantial downgrade was reportedly due to weak sales in the company's sports lineup including NFL2K3. The site now stands as a sort of "shrine" to the Dreamcast greatness.11/2/02* *Sega has confirmed plans to re-release several popular games as part of its Dreamcast Classics software lineup in Japan. The campaign, which already includes such games as NFL2K1 and Space Channel 5 among others, gives players the opportunity to purchase popular games at relatively cheap prices. According to Sega representatives, the following games will be added to the Dreamcast Classics lineup beginning October 31: Black Matrix Advanced, D-Vine, Memories Off Complete, Mercurius Pretty, and Twenty-One.
