A long long time ago, just about a year now, a group of bored-ass kids were sitting in Human titties listening to Mr. Buckler lecture about Romeo and Juliet. So they began to create a fun and easy-to-play game, which would soon become an unstoppable force. It spread to Integrated Math I(H), Biology 9(H), and later to Integrated II(H). It thrived in Bio and Math, where the blackboards were oft-used as giant jo boards. But it was banished in Humanities by Mr. Uminski. With a Stalinist fascist approach he tried to stop the game, threatening the Joers whenever a board was found in his classroom. Then Cory put Computer Jo on the internet, there was a failed attempt to send Jo to Europe, which led to the formation of the Department of International Jo(DIJ), which makes sure that another opportunity to send Jo over foreign borders will not be squandered. Since Jo started there have been many advancements, such as smuggling graph paper to the Jo meetings instead of hand-drawing graphs, and the new variations, Asexual, XP, TP, Snake, Grav-Rod, 3-D, Build, Drop, and Adventure. The name of the game has also changed over time, originally the name was disputed, some Joers preferred, Tic-Tac-Joe, others, mainly Conor, preferred Joe-Tac-Toe, but since then it has changed to just Joe, and then the E was dropped, making the name just Jo. There are also unfortunate events in the history of Jo. The most note-worthy being Conor's totalitarian rule over all aspects of the game for a period of time last year. Modifying rules and boards in the middle of games to benifit himself, and changing the Jo Records and Archives, making he and Dave look by far superior to all other Joers. Since then Jo and Conor have gone through a reformation, without any corruption or deception occurring within the confines of the Jo community. Although Conor does sometimes go through recurrences of his old self, trying to cheat and manipulate the game to his advantage. We recently realized that Jo has taken the path of western civilization, with with it's crude beginnings, a similar Dark Ages, where Conor acted as the Pope, controlling the game and sending his "Crusaders" to kill his enemies while he prospered, then a sort of Renaissance period, which we are in now, where there are advancements in Jo on an almost daily basis and no one has control of the game. |
