The Gilgal Refuge aims to serve women and their children who are homeless as a result of domestic violence.

Based in Birmingham, Gilgal is a safe house providing 24 hour emergency accommodation for women and their children escaping domestic violence.

We aim to provide a quality and sensitive service which is based on safety, freedom, equality, respect and empowerment

The Gilgal Refuge is part of the Gilgal Project, a registered charity (no.1045812), established in 1994. Since opening, we have helped over 400 families. The refuge works in partnership with Mercian Housing Association. Gilgal Project also includes Stepping Stones Family Support Centre who work in partnership withSpurgeons Child Care

Women are welcome from all cultural backgrounds and every effort is made to offer a culturally sensitive service
