| "...Let us then be up and doing With a heart for any fate - Still achieving, still pursuing. Learn to labor and to wait." From "A Psalm of Life" Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |
| It seems to me that all forests and woods are enchanted but, unfortunately, these magical places are forbidden to me except in the most rare and profound circumstances. So while Oberon and Titania are chiding in some hidden glade, or making up on a distant mossy tree bank, and perhaps other enchanted creatures choose to manifest themselves in that untouchable wilderness, I am left standing at a broken-down fence row, peering deeply into a wall of trees that carefully cloak the things that must be hidden and protected from the world. And as snowflakes lilt downward and alight on frozen bark or glistening carpet, or as birds fly from bush to briar and back again, or as the first leaves of autumn cast themselves freely to the forest floor, I can only stand awestruck, gasping at the realization of knowledge unpossessed, and beauty which is unattainable. It is for this reason I pursue the mystery, so as not to be swallowed up by ignorance and disbelief as I stand at the edge of an infinite answer. Stella Adler once said, "Everyday reality is not enough for the actor - an art form is needed to express this reality! When one becomes an actor, one achieves true independence and an ability to grow as long as one lives. To grow is one's deepest and truest need when one says, 'I want to be an actor.'" It isn't an option really. No matter where life takes me or what I do, I'll always be an actress, a writer, and artist. It is just who I am, no matter what. These are my goals -- to work hard, learn more all the time, and be a positive light to the world. |
