2009 Show Season
Goal this year is to get her nice and seasoned. We'll see how that goes.
Feb. 21st-Cedar Run Horse Show, Judge: April Rivers, Woodbridge, VA
First show of the year, she was a pro. She's been to Cedar Run a few times, but the indoor is always scary. Their mirrors seem to captivate her, and the judge's whistle spooked her. But her first test she was relaxed, just didn't want to round. In her second test, she was totally not listening to my leg in the beginning and than she started to frame up nicely.
Judge said it was better than the first test, with the exception of the one break at the canter and the beginning. So happy with her though, she didn't have a total heart failure.

April 4th-QRC Dressage Show J: Lauren Sprieser
It was really windy. But she was good. All week she was doing good with her trot-canter transitions, but she wasn't nailing them like practice. I think it was me tho. I think I was thinking way too hard about it and getting it wrong. Plus looking at pictures I really rode in a hunt seat position. Defintely need to sit up more in the saddle. I probably also need to get a saddle that will sit me deeper. I sit very nice in my western saddle. Anyhow, my training level test 1, was very accurate. Judge said I needed to work on getting her uphill, which is harder for her since she's downhill.
Training level test 2, she was doing well, bending better, but she spooked at a jogger in the wood. So our test score went down. But nonetheless I was very pleased with her. She was a very good girl.

April 7th-Colleen Kelly Clinic, Catlett, VA
Had fun, learned some new things.
April 18th-QRC Fun Show
Got to show in grain bucket barrels, barrel racing, and pole bending. She was good, except the ladder outside the arena was scary apparently. Danielle got some fun shots of her bucking during grain bucket barrels. Silly pony. :P
April 26th-Debbie Marriott Clinic, Woodbridge, Va
Debbie was really nice. I was a bit worried about not understanding some of what she was going to talk about. But she was good and clear. Lilly was being wonderful. She acted better than she's ever acted at Cedar Run. Worked on not letting her counter bend. We did a shoulder in. Which since she's young she didn't do the perfect one, but it was cool.
May 2nd-QRC Dressage Show, J: Aviva Nebesky
Aviva was so nice from both a show secretary point of view and as a rider. She really had constructive critisim and was very supportive. I should have warmed up a little bit more, but since we had a lot of scratches, we didn't really have tons of time.
In Training Level 1, she was being good. Aviva noted that she is inconsistent with her head and a little fussy about being put on the bit. Which she's right. My canter transitions were horrible, but it was all me not her. I was really leaning on her. *x* Bad riding. lol. Our second Training Level test, we did so much better. Aviva commented that my corners were very elegant and sophisicated. I have to admit my corners were awesome. Aviva said that I really used my corners to help balance her. My canter transitions were better, because I was thinking in my head "don't lean sit up". Aviva was impressed by the little girl's canter. Lilly does have a big canter for a 15.2 hand Appy thing. All in all a good day. Very pleased with the Lillers.

July 11th-QRC Dressage Show, J: Janice Garlitz
She was being a big pain. Apparently the woods held something dark and mysterious. She spooked at the end of the Training Level 1. We still need to work on her rounding her back and accepting the bit. She was really fussy today. Her canter transitions weren't bad, she just needs to be rounder.
