is Karren, who lives in Legazpi City, Philippines and is the first child
I ever sponsored. Karren is very special, because she is very talented
and very intelligent, yet she is always, always humble. Last year, for
example, Karren competed in a nationwide academic competition, and placed
second in the regional round. That effectively designated her as one of
the top fifty or so most intelligent kids in the Philippines. Yet when
she wrote me about being put into an advanced class in school, she said
she didn't know if she was as good as the other kids!
Needless
to say, I am very proud not only to sponsor Karren, but also to know her.
It is an honor for me to be able to include her in my circle of friends.
