This is Karren in her home in
Legazpi City in September 2000, during our first trip to see her. It
is hard to describe how impressed I was by her and her family, and how
good it made me feel about being a sponsor.
Apparently, I was the first sponsor to ever visit that area, and quite a few people wanted to see me and say hello. Karren's mother Edna made a fantastic lunch for us before we went out to see the Mayon Volcano with Maeann and Jackie from Children International. Unfortunately, Karren's brother Kevin (who I now also sponsor) was sick and could not go with us. |
