Date: Feb. 26, 2003 , 7:00pm Location: Dooley's Lounge /Jazz Bar In Attendance: Cory Guimond, Jeff Sweezey, Jason Howe, Jason Manuel, Loreen McGrath, Leslie Hudgins, Suzanne Schofield, Vanessa Moar Regrets: Greg Savoie Review of last Meetings Minutes: Minutes of last meeting were reviewed in discussed at length. The following is what was determined: List of Events ***"MEET AND GREET" It was decided that the school lounge at JMH would be the place to reunite for the beginning of the reunion. On Friday July 26th, the Meet and Greet will begin at 6:30pm and end at 10:00pm ***Slide Show to be presented during the course of the evening. Get your photos to Sue for the slide show.**See 'Send pics for slide show' link on side of page. ***Liquor license to sell to grads will cost $45.00. Proceeds to go towards cost of reunion. ***Finger foods(menu pending) will be will be available for all attending Friday night at the school Meet and Greet. ***Choo Choo's will be the place to gather after we close down the meet and greet up at the school. Plans is to get the top floor of the bar for just the grads of 93. Currently trying to work a deal for the JMH Grads--ie:cheap booze, live entertainment etc. ***BEACH DAY--BAY DU VIN ISLAND***It was decided that the meeting place for the next days events would take place at Manderson's(KOA) where we will set up a weekend headquarter's. ***A FAMILY DAY---A family gathering will take place from 10:00am until 1:00pm. Sue V. is taking care of organization ie: events for the children, prizes activities etc...also is looking for donations etc for events. Between 12 noon and 1pm, the bus will start taking people from the KOA site down to Bay Du Vin wharf to meet the boats for transport over to the island....and of course, a little boat trip :) We have the bus available to us all day long, making as many back and forth trips as necessary between the rally points. It was decided that it was too risky to involve children around the water and commotion, therefore this activity is for the adults only. --Cory contacted Irene Savoie and it will cost around $400.00 for the bus service for the day. --Various activities over on the Island for the grads, perhaps of a 'Survivor" spin to them :)..prizes etc... --Grad participation at all functions are of course, at your own risk!! --BYOB if it applies, refreshments(pop,water etc) MAY be available over on the island. ***MAIN EVENT OF THE WEEKEND--THE DANCE*** It was agreed that the KOA would be the venue for the dance. "Echo"(Paulin Savoie) who plays many venues around the city, has been retained to play at our dance. The cost for rental of the campground was not determined for sure but it will include use of all facilities, and free camping all reunion weekend long!! ---This event again, is BYOB if it applies, and hopefully, if weather permits, it will be an outdoor concert and just an awesome time! Dance time etc would begin at 10pm, but activities and presentations going on beforehand, as well as a feed of food!!(Menu to be announced) --It was also mentioned that each grad student could invite a total of 2 guests(and must be signed in by them) There will be a charge to attend the dance for anyone who has not enrolled/registered. ---Teachers can attend for free--except Greg Morris!! haha, just kidding Greg. A Pig roast was suggested, and Cory was to look into the costs and feasability of it. Also suggested was just bring your own meat(BBQ's available) and we provide an array of salads, veggies , corn boil, meat trays, small desserts etc...still unsure yet. ***BRUNCH/BBQ & FAMILY DAY*** It was agreed that a brunch will be held at the Rodd Hotel and each individual will have to pay for their own way. Loreen will take care of the negotiations with the Rodd. Family day to follow .....still planning. ******PEOPLE CONTACT***** There were not many people contacted to date, but at next meeting we were to obtain a class list, divide it up, and contact as many people as we can by calling ....this is going to be a long and hard task, so please if you know of someone, tell them to email us so we can cross them off the list. ****Fund Raising*** Cory raised $525.00 through fundraising thus far. We're hoping the liquor sold Friday night will raise enough funds for the rest. ****Bank Account**** Was to be opened by Ghandi and Jeff this week(we were postponed by the bank tks to RRSP season, new appt for this friday, march 14) ***New photo submission sections, both for the website, as well as for the slide show on Friday night at the school.
