A Virtual Interview
Q: Tell us a little about yourself.
A: I am from Houston born and raised for 22 years of my life. I have always been intrigued by electronics at a young age; from Nintendo, to computers. I enrolled at the University of Houston my 3rd year of college, and began studying Information System Technologies. I currently work for Houston Community College under Technical Support. With the help of my experiences and education of computers, I know that my skills and knowledge about this industry will continue to grow constantly.
Q: What are your strengths and weaknesses?
A: My strengths are the ability to adapt to different work environments and to working well with others. When coming into a new work place I can pick up new skills and information fast. I also can work well with my fellow co-workers, because we have a common goal in mind at we will utilize all of our knowledge and skill to achieve it.
One of my weaknesses is I tend to be a perfectionist. I usually won’t move on until I have perfected a project. I tend to find myself working a bit past my timed schedule to leave, because I get bothered by the fact that I didn’t finish my days work.
Q: What are your goals?
A: My short-term goal is to find an entry level position that will enable me to work with IT support. With the experience I am receiving now at work, I know that this is my field to grow in knowledge and skill.
Q: In your work experience, what have you done that had an impact in the organization?
A: Working at Houston Community College has impacted my experience tremendously. One way I have impacted them is HCC is utilizing my knowledge that my skills and knowledge that I have obtained from the University of Houston has can be a big asset to my workplace. My enthusiasm, diligent work ethics and persistence to achieve goals, has given new life blood to Houston Community College Stafford's Technical Support.
Q: How would you describe yourself using only five words?
A: Dedicated, organized, efficient, perfectionist and goal-oriented.
Q: Why should we hire you?
A: I can be a great asset to your company because I am dedicated to everything that I do, especially when it comes to work. I would like to see myself earning my way to a managerial position, and growing with the company, because we all have the common goal of building upon the organization. I believe that my industrious work ethics and my ambition to achieve will reflect on the person that I am and what I can do as an employee who represents your company.
