What is ASP?

ASP or formally known as Active Server Pages comes from Microsoft. ASP works with Microsoft’s IIS (Internet Information Services) in dealing with dynamic web pages. VBScript and Microsoft’s on Jscript is common languages used with ASP.

In dealing with n-tier applications, ASP enables a user help integrate databases and web pages together. Since ASP files are viewed by the user as HTML, this allows the user to view it on any browser. In doing so, it makes things a lot faster and easier for clients to use.
