| Snoopy, half cocker/collie, American parents, born in PI. one smart dog..hi-lite of our two years. Here, he is looking over back yard wall at Bourbon and Baby, monkeys in next in cage (against law for U.S. folk to own Simian in RP, USAF Capt next door did anyway). Snoop was smart but had a short fuse for certain people/events - hated Filipinos.. Utillity companies sent meter readers door to door, reading and collecting. Phil Tel&Tel guy wuz real smart ass, rode Honda 90, ear spliting exhaust, always poked at snoopy - one day I heard the Honda, moment later heard crash of front gate - Snoop had hit that gate so hard it crashed. When I got out front, smart ass wuz across street where he left his Bike, no time to mount and start it.. he wuz running in a circle around it.. snoopy nipping his butt bout every second step.. I had to really whack the dog with a chain,. would rather have smacked smart ass, law did not allow that. Once in back yard, Snoop snoozing, youngest son poking bare toe in grass under snoop nose - dog looked couple times, sorta puzzled, then went back to snooz.. one more poke and, Zoweeeee, snoop got himself a bite of that critter in grass!! |
| Road up thru Zambales Mtns to Baguio, US personnel allowed one week during tour - and it was worth it (I had contracts at John Hay AB) so I went up there fairly regular - fly in/out of John Hay - your life will pass before your eyes. Water Fall on road and gold mines - log/mine trucks scare crap outta you, as l the Philippino Rabbit (bus co) whose drivers are paid a head count bonus - and their road half is centered in middle. |

| Water fall & mtn views nice after flat rice paddies in Pampanga Prov.. Flip Jeepney drivers delighted in smashing my big beautiful Buick Electra 225, got all sides. Tropic sunset unequaled, see pg6RepPhila. |
| Americans had Banana & Papaya trees in yard, real cottage industry for Flip yard boys. Blossom edible, tho I never tried it, those hanging close to fence were swiped regularly by passerby. |
