Jim Lynn & CMETeam at TSN prep for trip to Binh Thuy AB, w/ VNAF flight crew, Hq VNAF 10 AD Chief of Logistics, Major Tien, about equal divided w/american and VNAF members. This flight by C7A, but used both VNAF and CIA  UH1, VNAF C-130 and  an old creaky Gooney bird (C-47)
Tvl to Soc Trang however was by VNAF UH1 (Similar to  CIA chopper below), except the VNAF chopper was equipped w/upward heat deflection elbow for engine exhausts, hopfuly to avert target image for VC heat seeking Gnd/Air Missiles, we  flew low and fast, I always stuffed my brief case solid with IBM cards, tab runs etc and sat on it, it is sitting her now, just 4 feet from me, never took a hot one in it nor my butt, which it was designed to protect.

US Military departure from 'Nam, 4-30-73 also went the abundant resources, particularly travel. We in DAO AOSAF travelled best way we could, that included walking, cyclo, lambretta, on Honda 90 Buddy seat (now that is a sight for mirth - me at 270#  riding buddy with a 90# Viet Citizen, hoping he does not have a relative stashed up an alley looking for my stash. This Particular hoss (CIA Huey - note, notmarkings except s/n. This pic is on helo pad at Puzzle Palace east (TSN), I used a Minolta TTL, noise camera, sound to a nervous type not unlike an M-16 being charged - I garoantee, the driver of this bird almost came unclued when I snapped this shot...(VNAF and US Embassy operated motor pool, and had dozens of motor veh left behind, mostly US Navy Int'l scouts - but ICCS seemed to have dibs on best ones.. Hungarian Colonel gave my buddy Gust Spanos a ride one nite from CIA compound (The Alamo) in Da Nang back to our rat hole hotel, driving an Int'l scout much newer than one I had at Bien Hoa.
