Hiroshima

Americans know the history, Japanese know the history. It's the future I'm worried about. It was a great feeling when an old Japanese man sitting outside the bomb museum gave us Americans a friendly smile, and then talked with us about the events here. Still, despite his positive attitude, the devestation was immense...unbelievable.

 

 

This colorful pieces of paper are tiny cranes strung together to symbolize hope and peace. In the atomic bomb park they lay at the feet of several statues, testimony to victims who refused to be victims.
