| An interesting Friday to say the least. I spent about an hour driving Art to two different DMV offices, only to find out in both cases that what he needed to do couldn't be done there. Then there was 2 hours of Ultimate, which tires you out since it's friggin hot. Then came the women's soccer game, which could possibly be the worst soccer game I have ever witnessed. It was frustrating/horrible. After that came volleyball, and then a trip to Taco Bell. The night ended with a deeply philosophical discussion between Art, Brooks, and I which lasted a good 3 hours. I've decided that I like those kind of discussions because it allows me to say stuff and get it off my chest in a way. I have a lot of things kept up inside me that I would like to say and things I would like to tell people, and talking is an outlet. So, basically I should talk more than I do because it makes me feel better. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Polar Bear Volleyball baby! Ok, so it was only like mid 50s, but that sand is very, very cold, especially when you're diving around and getting up your shorts. Some things from tonight: the naked volleyball team, that was only half naked really, or a quarter naked since the girls didn't participate; full contact volleyball; all the football catches; Aaron tackling Jimmy; the reunion of the superheroes: Spiderman, Batman, and Flash; the love triangle of Jared, Aaron, and Kenneth; and of course, the endless sand throwing/kicking wars. Another productive night of volleyball. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Polar Bear Volleyball baby! Round 2. The sand was a little warmer tonight. I went shirtless with the rest of the guys tonight, unlike last night. It was okay for a while, but after about 3 hours it got a little chilly. Tonights mentionables: Spidey's interceptions, Batman's goal keeping, serving for the box, the mermaid and the other drawings, and of course, Will's spike. Will was standing on the ground and he spiked a ball from the back line when it fell to around his head, it landed directly under the net, what a powerful swing. This was at about 12:45, so fatigue was definately a part of it. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The night of the torrential downpour. We got about an hour of volleyball in before it started raining. We got about a half hour of volleyball in after it started pouring. We were all soaked to the bone, but it was still fun. The Jimmy-Chad trashtalk conversation was interesting. It was all good, I love being in the rain. It's pretty bad when your clothes are dripping all the way through the dorm. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Tonight was another fun night of volleyball, although I had no intention whatsoever of playing until 1:30 in the morning. No, seriously, I intended to study. Hey, stop. Stop laughing! Stop it! I study sometimes! I get no respect. Anyways, we recreated something I forgot to mention last night, which was the Harlem Globetrotter volleyball. Basically we did a whole bunch of weird stuff before serving it up to the other team. And tonight, Paula got the whole Jared experience, since she only got hit in the head, chest, and shoulders a couple times each. I love it when people say: "Now I know what it is like to be Jared playing volleyball." There was another famous occurance, where I dove for I ball I knew I would not be able to hit, so the ball hit the sand more than a full second before I did. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Today is refered to as the day of death. I had a Huffmon exam at 2 and a Nauftus exam at 5. I'm lucky to still have use of my right hand and forearm muscles. 70 minutes of vigorous writing, followed by a 100 minute break, followed by 90 minutes of vigorous writing, you get the picture. I went to the women's soccer game to unwind a little, it was fun taking out frustrations on the Coastal players, their annoying fans, and the referee and line judges. We won, which is all good, especially since it was Coastal. Fried chicken anyone? Chanticleer = Rooster = CHICKEN | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| A brief summary/paraphrasing of the conversation at tonight's dinner table: "Pierre, you looked like Kunta Kinte yesterday with your nappy hair." "Don't call me Kunta Kinte, it's like calling me a slave." "Whatever, Kunta." "Ok Pierre, you looked like Geordi LaForge, without the visor thing. You know, LaVar Burton, the Reading Rainbow guy." "Art, that's the same guy." "Oh yeah, I completely forgot about that." Way to completely ignore the credits for Roots, Art. |

| Just for Kat: "The test might not have been that easy, it was just that I was that good." - Jared Yes, apparantly I need two chairs in the cafe, one for me, and one for my ego. Since it was like 80 degress out today, they decided to start playing volleyball at 5. I had class, so I couldn't get out there until 6:30. I only played for 5 hours, Kenneth played for 6. We had Little Ceasar's pizza, too. I found that playing volleyball one-handed while holding your pizza in the other was non-productive, but I did find that I can catch a frisbee one-handed much more efficiently when holding a piece of pizza in the other hand. The lights on the court never came on, so we were playing in the dark until Chandler came along and pointed out the breaker box in the bush that controls the lights. They are still trying to incorporate me into the Semi-Naked Techno, and we are still looking for new members of the Justice League. |

| Art and the DMV: The Saga Continues. Once Art figures out how to fill out an official form correctly, he will be able to drive his motor vehicle. Hopefully, that will be soon. I instructed him to write this whole story down because it will be quite entertaining in the future. I also told him that this sounded like something that would happen to me. Bring on that fourth and fifth trip to the DMV! No volleyball tonight, it was too windy for some people I guess. We went to Denny's instead, Hannah, Will, Rodney, Paula, Mike and I. Talk about entertaining, Will acted the part of a five year old really well, and Hannah definately played the part of the scolding mother well too. And talk about some wondering conversations. "Train, Car, Train, Car, Boat, Train" My first trip to Denny's in this college town was definately memorable. |
