Uno High School (UHS) is the realization of Don Domingo Yu Chu's Lifetime dream. In June of 1960, the school became operational emphasizing on the following:(1) Discipline, (2) Academic Excellence, and (3) Charity. During the first year of operation, there were only 486 students. Now, the number has risen to approximately 1,400. The name Uno High School was chosen because it denotes a school quality, that is, "Numero Uno." The logo of UHS consists of the symbol for "mei hua", the national flower of China. This flower symbolizes endurance for hardships and resilience in times of trials, since this flower can endure wintertime, during which it ironically blooms in abundance. The school colors are blue and white. UHS boasts some of the greatest teachers in the country today. UHS has teachers who have graduated from some of the best colleges and universities in the Philippines. Some even graduated with honors, while some have recieved awards from MetroBank and other government sectors of the country.
Our high school barkada wasn't all that classy. In fact we weren't even popular in our school. But my barkada are some of the greatest people I have ever met in my life. It was a sad graduation day for our barkada because we would be going our separate ways. But still we haven't broke up since we still have our mode of communication like chat and text. I love my high school barkada. We were carefree and gimik-freaks. I will never forget our "kulitan" in High School.
