When I went to Xiamen, China to join the study tour, I thought it would be boring and stupid. But when I got there and made new friends I suddenly realized it wasn't really that bad. In fact, I had my best summer in that study tour. I not only improve on my chinese language speaking and writing skills, but I also learned a lot about my ancestors mother country.
We went there to learn all about the Chinese language but on the way I learned Chinese calligraphy, Chinese painting, Wu-Shu, and singing. My favorite subjects were Wu-shu and Music. Wu-Shu, which literally means Martial Arts, is one of the most challenging subject. We had to do stances and excercises to improve our martial arts skills and strenghten our body as well. We were also thought how to maneuver a sword, that part I really liked. We were also thought the basic disciplines of martial arts. In Music, we were thought how to sing some of the renowned songs of the Chinese. Some of my friends and I were chosen to perform in our graduation, it was scary yet fun at the same time. I was so happy to learn that I was given an award for "Excellence in Singing". I was definetly shocked and honored.
In our study tour we also went to a lot of places in Xiamen. We went to WuYi Mountain where we rode a boat and climed the mountain. I felt a rush of adrenaline and ecstasy when I reached the peek. It was so cool! I actually reached the top. On top it was a ritual to taste the tea that grew on that mountain, so I tasted it and it was really good, maybe since I was very thirsty and cold.
Altogether it was one of the best experiences of my life. I don't have any regret that I went to that trip.
