History
Origin

Aeon of Primus - The three gods and the Mistress of Magic had just created Aelthiur.  Unknown time period.  No arcane magic, with clerical divine magic was very very rare, though druidic divine magic was common.  During this period druidic magic was highly shamanistic.  Psionics were more common than modern day psionics, though less advanced.   The gods walked among the mortals, attempting to fix the 'bugs' of the world.  The ability to raise to godhood was created, and clerical divine magic began to rise.  Gods tried to teach people arts, with moderate success.  Dyaramis rises as the first of the evil gods and created ogres.  True elves quickly begin to loose power as the dominate race asthe Age of Primus ends.

Aeon of Tribes - More common races begin to extend throughout the world, the dwarves quickly becoming the most advanced with bronze equipment.  Ogres are pushed back, and giants are created.  War becomes much more common, as it was nearly unheard of during the Aeon of Primus.  The gods begin working on the various planes of Nir, and the ethereal plane is discovered.

Aeon of Worship - The dieties create many of the planes and claim them as their homes.  Clerical divine magic replaces the shamanistic magic as the more common form of magic.  Arcane magic remains outlawed by the Mistress of Magic.  More races begin becoming civilized, and the surface world begins interacting with the underwater world.  Raven elves are created, and many other elven factions begin branching out.  Kern the Hunter begins evolving various animals to protect themselves.

Aeon of Soaring Hearts - 0 ASH through 7912 ASH.  Civilizations flourish, and people begin tapping into the powers of Nir.  Eventually, the Mistress of Magic allows arcane magic and it sweeps through the world, causing much good.  Firstborn magic items are created, now mighty artifacts, and great cities rise in the flash of night.  The magics flow through the world unchecked, and it is a time of great prosperity and creation.  Ogres and goblins and other savage races are nearly destroyed due to their inability to the cope with the great arcane magics, though the newly mutated Ogre Magi help keep the ogres alive.  Giants however, near the verge of extenction.

Aeon of Black Ice - 0 ABI through 3275 ABI.  The Mistress of Magic limits the availability of magic, placing laws upon it.  However, hundreds of extremely powerful mages rise up against her in malice.  An arcane war breaks the world, causing a catastrophic ice age.  The great elven nations finally break down to smaller ones and cluster together, but the engineering humans are able to thrive throughout this time period.  The gods stay somewhat in the back ground, for the powers clashing throughout Nir are enough to hurt them immensely.  Eventually, the Mistress of Magic prevails and the ice age retreats.

Aeon of Crimson Dawn - 0 ACD through 11521 ACD.  The world recovers from the Aeon of Black Ice quickly, adapting readily to the new laws of magic.  They create new civilizations to replace the old, often looking through their history to find inspiration.  Many wars and revolutions occur, the world being filled with both hope and uncertainty.  Very notably, the plane of Gehenna is destroyed during a large insurgance during a battle of the Blood War.

Aelthiurian War I

Aeon of Silence - 0 AS through 1269 AS (Present Day).  The conclusion of the first Aelthiurian War marks the end of the Aeon of Crimson Dawn as the world settles into its new life and nations begin to arrive at stable ground.  This balance is momentarily rocked during the second Aelthiurian War, but has otherwise remained rather calm in the large scheme of things.
