HOW DID MY LIFE COME TO THIS????????

Do you ever wonder how you got to the place that you are at... even though you know better than to have let yourself do some of the things that you have done?

Paul, the apostle, said almost the same very thing. He said basically, why do I do the things that I hate and hate the things that I do?
It is because our flesh is weak and as children of God, our spirits and minds do want to do the things of the spirit...but sometimes our bodies simply do what comes into our minds as pleasurable.
You see, the mind is the devil's playground in which satan or one of his demons can insert a thought. Until we entertain that thought, that is ALL that satan can do to us. He has no power at all, except to suggest in our minds things which he knows will lead us to speak something which will set "sin" in motion in our lives and eventually destroy us. Satan is our enemy, because we were created by God and satan is God's enemy, having been thrown out of heaven by God. Because we belong to God and are in effect, God's handiwork and His Heart, satan wants to destroy his enemy through the ones that He Loves...us! And, in the same manner, if satan cannot reach us, he will attack 'OUR' loved ones here on earth also. I know only so well how satan works on us through those we love. I have been guilty of slacking lately because I have spent so much time worrying about my loved ones, whom satan seems to have led astray. I know better than to let worry and doubt come into my life (it destroys our faith-grown blessings, since in Mark 11:23-25, it says "and DOUBT NOT", concerning faith working). But, it is not easy to look away when you see a loved one taking the wrong path that could lead to their destruction. Yet, if we are to help our loved ones, we must adhere to God's word and believe it nomatter what we see. If we speak our doubts over people, it WILL come to pass unless we correct our words and actions.
By reading and studying the Word of God, we can train our minds (renew our minds) to respond to these inserted thoughts with the word of God. That will end any "sin" before the thought ever is spoken or entertained.
One thing that is very bad (an idle mind) is the practice of "day dreaming". Some people day dream all the time. When you day dream, you usually do things in your mind, which you would not do in reality because of your moral and life's obligations, but you entertain those things instead in your mind where they are "harmless" (not so). Jesus said pertaining to sex, that even thinking about adultry is the same as doing the act. That means there is danger lurking in the area of the mind. Most people think that if they do not actually physically do something, that there is no sin in it. That is because the LAW can only prosecute you when you have physically performed an act against the law. But, in the spiritual realm, things work differently. And, remember that things of this world are temporal, but things of the spirit are permanent according to the bible. And, being children of God, saved from destruction by GRACE through Jesus Christ, we are not under subserviance to the LAW because if we follow the laws of the SPIRIT, we will break no laws of God. We are under GRACE...but still in our physical bodies subject to the physical laws. Hence, the conflict in our minds...whether to choose things of the spirit or of the flesh. 'We must walk in the spirit, not in the flesh, for to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life...'
The answer here is to seek the things of God and apply them to our physical lives. Jesus said there would be a struggle between this world and His world. It is called 'will power'. God gave us free will to do what we wanted to do because he loves us. He will not force anything on us against our will. That is why we were placed on this earth...to choose between God and satan, which will determine where we will spend eternity. Since all GOOD comes from God and all EVIL comes from satan, I would suggest that hell will pretty much be an evil place full of torment, whereas, Jesus promised us heaven would be paradise. If you don't believe this, just look at how satan's followers act and think. They are self centered, rude, uncaring, ruthless, angry, fearful, and sometimes dangerous. They are always out of control and wavering...never quite getting to know the truth, and they are consistantly self-serving, always thinking of self and gain. On the other hand, Jesus's followers (if they are in truth) are loving, care givers, always thinking of others, positive of what they know in Christ, striving to do better even when they fail, mannerly, consistant, carrying good news and healing to those less fortunate (all Godly qualities), never failing to reach those who are looking for the truth, forgiving, and never casting blame, but taking it on their own shoulders, always being cast down, but never destroyed, victimized, but always redeemed, used, but never used up!
How did my life come to this??? Because of my own actions which went against God's spiritual laws. The answer is to turn around and repent before God. Then God will set you on high and bless your life and those around you!!!
