Barbie's Cradle : They have come a long way. Their humble beginnings now brought them to popularity and stardom. Being recognized as one of the Philippines' most sought-after rock bands, Barbie's Cradle takes the entertainment industry with a different mission. The trio comprised of Barbie Almalbis on vocals, guitar and piano; Rommel dela Cruz on bass; and Wendell Garcia on drums. They write their owns songs, and Barbie usually writes based on her life experiences and inspiration from other people's lives, she writes about circumstances, events and little things that might have caught her thoughts and attention. God has been the center of their lives and for Barbie He is her greatest inspiration. You would find her in their gigs, inbetween songs and she would boldy speak of Jesus, her new found faith and how it all changed her life. She quoted, "I used to love the darkness so much, but out of the darkness there was nothing. It's good to know that there is a light and it's always there, it never goes away. And we can just come to that light and claim it's promises."

To speak of the truth is to speak of life and she does that everyday. By faith she walks in her young Christian life full of hope, love and joy. It all brings peace and it radiates from with in her that she becomes a lamp to other people. Her love of the Lord is evident and there is no doubt she delights in His commands. When she had her encounter with Jesus, she relates how she surrendered herself completely, humbling herself to God and it totally changed her whole being. Barbie's Cradle believes that it is Jesus that brings life and magic to their shows and gigs. Their music has gotten the Christian theme and they've been truly bold of telling their audience and fellow musicians about Him.

Christian rock is starting to have it's roots in the Filipino music industry, and it's growing quite fast with a number of new musicians writing and singing about their faith, playing in gigs across the metro and soon enough Christian rock will have it's full recognition. Barbie's Cradle seems to be one of the first Filipino artists to have taken the banner and went to their calling to "make music that will bless and speak of God." Their upcoming song "All I Need is God" tells of humbling oneself to the Lord and taking hold of the truth. It's a realization for people called "baby Christians" who are just starting to have an understanding of they ways of God. And Barbie was exactly a baby Christian when she wrote it. "Overflowing" is another one, but quite loud with heavy guitars and drums, which expresses of God's blessings and receiving them to overflow in our lives. It speaks of His promises and His amazing generosity. A favorite on their shows is "Everything is Under Control" which speaks of God being the regulator of everything, it reminds us that He is still in command, and His ways will never harm us even when it seems painful or difficult. It's about total trust and faith in God. The song "Father" is a haunting piece of work played on the keyboard and there is just much focus for the listeners to reflect on the lyrics. It tells of being in the family of God. That we could actually see Him as a real Father and it is a reality that is often neglected and even forgotten. More songs are "Everyday" "Plastic Arrows" "Suicide" "Hurricanes" "Jesus" and so on. Barbie has written so many that it seems quite difficult to pick what to put on the next project. Barbie's Cradle's current album "Music from the Buffet Table" has had huge success and there's no doubt they'd be doing even better in the future.

The band's greatest passion is to reach out and tell people they are not alone in their struggles. Music is their instrument, it is not their lives. And as for Barbie alone her greatest passion is to be used by God to touch lives of others through her music. She constantly challenges everyone to seek God the way she did. She believes that music has the power to influence lives and theirs they will use in hope to bring life and change to others. And in an interview months after her encounter with God she stated this testimony, "I have found the answer for all the emptiness in the world, and His name is Jesus Christ. Seek Him and you will find God. You will find everlasting love, truth and peace and He will bless you abundantly."
