Family
My family is the most important thing in my entire life. All of my family has lived within 30 miles of me my entire life. Both sets of my grandparents live in the same neighborhood I grew up in. When my parents met they realized they lived right down the street from one another, and when they were married they bought a house right in between both of their parents. The pictures above (from left to right) are my parents; my four best friends (AKA my sister and cousins); my sister, boyfriend and I; my Uncle Terry at a Luau we had; and my little cousin Autumn (its just apple juice in there - hey, its a funny picture). On my dad's side I have two granparents, one great grandmother, four aunts, four uncles, and eight cousins. On my mom's side I have two grandparents, four aunts, four uncles, and twelve cousins. We were all born and raised in Woodbridge , and to be completely honest we haven't spread too far apart. My sister and I are the first two in our entire family to attend a University. They are both extremely proud and supportive of our dreams and goals .
I consider my friends a part of my family. I met a lot of my closest friends as far back as elementary school. When I first started Mason I was completely torn up because all of my friends went to different schools, so I decided to rush a sorority my first semester. At first I had some doubts, but it has ended up being the best thing I have ever done. Not only did it introduce me to all types of people, it really got me out in both the Mason community and Fairfax as a whole. As most of you know when you join a sorority you get a "big sister," and a "little sister," which was just what I needed my freshman year. These girls have been there for me through thick and thin, and I could not ask for better friends. Being in a sorority is not all about partying like some may think; on sisterhood nights we entertain ourselves with movie nights and things along those lines. I party more with my roommates than I do with my chapter. The other picture was taken over Spring Break at my sister's apartment. My best friends from elementary school came over (only two are pictured), and we just kicked back and had a really good time. These people are extremely important to me, so it is always nice to get together and catch up.
