William's wife was Rebecca Moore, a 24 year old daughter of Richard Moore, 'a respectable farmer of this parish' and Ann Moore, parents of nine children.
Rebecca's brother David, a farmer and a schoolmaster was a witness at their wedding.
William and Rebecca were married by licence and had four known children: Mary Ann, George, Sidney and Elisa.
At the births of Mary Ann and George, William was listed as a farmer, but when his son Sidney was born he was noted on the birth entry as being both a farmer and an Innkeeper. By the birth of his fourth child, he was noted as merely a labourer.
William's wife Rebecca was buried on 15 June 1828, aged 38 years at Bedingfield. This was when her youngest child was only six years old.
The youngest daughter Elisa disappeared, possibly to marry someone of another parish as she is never mentioned in the Bedingifeld records again.
Our records show that Sidney shifted to Kenton.
