Dirt Bikes

My Dirt Bike Experiences

I have many other hobbies other than hunting.  One of my other favorite things to do is dirt bike riding.  Dirt bike riding gives me a thrill that can only be surpassed by the site of a deer walking through the woods.  Riding was actually my first passion in life.  I attained my first dirt bike at the age of five and since that day I have been all about riding.  I do two types of riding, casual and racing.  I have actually raced one of my bikes in a racing series, an amateur series but a series.  That was an experience that I greatly enjoyed.  I also just enjoy casual riding with my buddies.  We all get together, load up the bikes, and take off exploring. Here are some pictures.

As you can tell from these pictures, dirtbike riding is extreme.  You push your body to the limit doing extreme stunts and dangerous maneuvers. I have done my fair share of dangerous stunts and I have pulled most of them off, but the ones I didn't I have the scars to show for them.  Pain only last for a time, but the memories of the thrills last forever. Some of my greatest memories from riding came from my mud riding experiences.  It is just a tremendous feeling pushing your bike to the limit and getting covered in mud.  I once sunk my bike in a canal while mud riding.  That was an experience.  Once we got the bike out of the canal and towed it to the house, I had to tear the bike down to pieces and clean every part.  The engine even had to be torn down and each piece cleaned ,separately  but just like hunting, all the work pays off when you remember just how much fun you had.

I have tried many dangerous stunts ranging from jumping canals to standing up on the seat of the bike at high speeds.  In the picture to the right the guy is jumping a double which is a hill ranging from five to ten feet high.  I have done this and accomplished a stunt at the same time. The stunt was called a superman which is when a rider lets go of the handlebars and slides down to the back of the bike and holds on to the fender of the bike and hangs of the back.  Then before you land, climb back on the bike and land successfully.  I broke my bike several times before I learned exactly how to do it.  Once you learn a trick of this magnitude, it is worth all the time and pain put into learning it.
