LIVING ROOM
This
room is centrally heated. The fireplace is operational, and if you wish to use
it you can purchase logs from Bricomarché or other stores.
Front
Door The front
door has a stable opening window. Please ensure that this is closed and locked
when the property is unattended and on your departure, for your own and our
security.
Fuse Box The fuse box is located on the wall to the left of the front door. If problems arise some spare fuses are located in there.
Water and Gas The meters and stop taps for both of these are located behind the wood panelling under the large front window.
TV and Video We have supplied a television and video. This is for VHS video only. There is no television reception operative.
KITCHEN
The kitchen is well equipped. Please use the cutting boards for your preparation not the work surfaces.
Cooker and Hob The cooker is electric and the hob is gas. A built in cooker hood is located above the hob.
Washing Machine This is located under the stairs.
Fridge Please turn off at the plug and leave the door open at the end of your stay.
COURT YARD
Table and Chairs These are provided and are stored in the outhouse. This is also a suitable area for the storage of bicycles. Courtyard lights are located in the outhouse on the left.
BBQ’s This area is ideal for BBQ’s. A portable BBQ is stored in the outhouse. Charcoal (briquettes) can be purchased from most major supermarkets. Please clean after use.
STAIRS
The stairs are original oak and spiral to each floor. Please note due to their age there are imperfections and due caution should be used. A handrail is provided. The light for the stairs operates a light on each floor.
FIRST FLOOR
Master Bedroom
This has a four poster king size bed. The duvet and pillows are stored in the wardrobe.
Travel Cot
This is stored beside the wardrobe.
Bathroom
This has a water closet, sink and bath with an overhead shower, and a shaving point.
SECOND FLOOR
Bedroom
This has three single beds and the duvet’s and pillows are stored in the wardrobe.
This large well lit room has a window at either end. The window overlooking the courtyard has a short chain for safety. The window overlooking the street has a half height safety grill. If you have children would you please make them safety aware.
GENERAL
Central Heating The central heating is time set to come on in the early mornings and evenings. It can be set to constant in wintertime and is turned off in the summer.
Rubbish Collection Rubbish is collected Monday to Friday inclusive at around 7 am. Please place your sealed/tied bags outside the front door.
Cleaning Equipment and Light Bulbs Cleaning equipment, mop, hoover, etc and spare light bulbs can be found in the understairs cupboard.
Medical Matters The main Dinan pharmacy is situated opposite the Town Hall.
Market Days Dinan has a wonderful market at the Place Duguesclin on Thursday mornings. In the summer (end of June – September) there is an antiques brocante market at the Place St Sauveur on Wednesday mornings.

Arrival, Departure and Housekeeping
Before departure to France it is your responsibility to ensure that you have confirmed receipt of the key to the house either by telephone or post. Your English speaking caretakers are Wendy Sullivan 00 33 (0) 296 39 72 71 and Veronique Hahner 00 33 (0) 296 87 68 22. Changeover day is Saturday, the house will be prepared for your arrival after 4.00 pm. On your departure day the house should be vacated by 10.00 am.
Parking: Please refrain from
leaving your car outside the house during daytime peak season, you can park
nearby or on the rue Michel and note all approach roads to the rue de Jerzual
are marked no entry except residents. There are two parking areas on the Jerzual
with a total of approximately 16 spaces.
The house is well equipped and whilst we have made every effort to consider all your requirements, if there are any problems whilst you are in France, please contact Wendy or Veronique.
We have supplied a television and video for video use only, so if you want to take any videos for children etc feel free.
The water heating and heating is gas and we thank you for not altering any settings.
The linen you will require is for three single beds (attic bedroom) and one four-poster king size bed (main bedroom). Towels (both bath and tea) are your own responsibility.
Local Information
You will be staying in the heart of ancient and historic Dinan. The medieval centre, has a wealth of ancient buildings, churches, a museum, numerous restaurants, bars, and many shops including galleries and antiques.
There are extensive opportunities for leisure pursuits with a number of excellent beaches along the coast; cycling along the River Rance (note: it is easy to keep your bicycles secure at the house); Chateaus to visit; historic towns such as St Malo (30 minutes), Rennes, the regional capital) (30 minutes), Mont St Michel (45 minutes); Boats can also be hired at the Port for cruising the River Rance; Local walking includes circumnavigating the ancient town walls and the tow path walk to Lehon Abbey.
We recommend a visit to the Dinan Tourist Office Web Site which gives information and many images of the town, a taster of what you will see. (see addresses). On arrival in Dinan please take a moment to visit the Tourist Office to pick up current brochures detailing events and local guides.

If you wish to take a return ferry up the river to St Malo, Emeraude Lines run a service from the port of Dinan on the river Rance, we suggest you contact their booking office at the port for accurate times or ask at the Tourist Office.
