November 12, 2002 - Kyle and I are headed to New Jersey!! We will be staying with my wonderful sister-in-law and her family. I swear she has two of the cutest little girls I have ever seen.
November 28, 2002 - Happy Thanksgiving! Kyle's sister's mother-in-law was kind enough to invite Kyle and I to her house for Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful day spent with family and of course a great meal. We have so much to be thankful for this year.
December 5, 2002 - Much to the unhappiness of the thousands of people that live on the east coast, I got my wish - IT SNOWED IN NEW JERSEY!! According to my sister-in-law it was about 8 inches of yucky stuff!! But I say it was heaven!! See pics of our snow fun!!
December 8, 2002 - Return to Sicily from New Jersey. Kyle and I had a great time. We literally shopped until we dropped. We ended up mailing 6 boxes of Christmasy items. We also bought a whole new nursery set (crib, changing table, and dresser) and a whole slew of other baby items. Thankfully we were able to get the military to ship it to us in Italy. We also received very thoughtful gifts from Kyle's sister, brother and uncle!! Thank you so much!! See our ideas for Dakota's nursery.
December 17, 2002 - We've made it to 24 weeks!! We are so excited!! If the baby was to be born today or after, he has a chance at survival!! Although I'm hoping to keep in cooking for at least another 12 weeks! Boy, oh boy (literally LOL) has the baby been kicking up a storm. Every kick reminds me that he's still there and I can't wait for the day when I get to meet and hold him!!
December 20, 2002 - Had my 24 week appt. Thankfully it was uneventful. I'm measuring right on schedule and the baby's heartbeat was 150 bpm. I was shocked to find out that I had gained 10 lbs in 6 weeks. So far, in this pregnancy, I've gained 20 1/2 lbs. YIKES!! Next appt scheduled for Jan 17.
December 25, 2002 - MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Kyle and I had a great Christmas. Hard to believe that by next year we'll have a little one to celebrate the holidays with!! I can't wait!! 15 weeks to go!
December 31, 2002 - Good bye 2002!! It was an interesting year but we are ready for the excitement of 2003!!
January 1, 2003 - Happy New Year!! Welcome 2003!! And Happy 2nd Birthday to Sonny D!! I can't wait for all the changes this year is sure to bring!!
January 5, 2003 - Happy 25th Bithday to me!! Kyle had to work but we got to spend a quiet evening at home!!
January 16, 2003 - Had my 28 weed check-up. I can't believe we're in the 3rd trimester!! Things are still going very well. Baby is growing right on schedule, and having a ball kicking my ribs!! His heartbeat was in the 150s again, he's a very consistent little guy!! I was very disapointed to learn that I had gained almost 30lbs already. I don't know where it's all going or where it's coming from, honestly!! Hopefully it will come off easily after Dakota's born. Next appt Feb 11th.
January 27, 2003 - All the baby items that we bought while we were in New Jersey last year have finally been delivered!! Our course, we dove right into the boxes and Kyle put together the crib, changing table with hutch and dresser. On his next set of off days, Kyle will paint the room. We are still waiting for last minute items I ordered off the internet. Click to see pics of Dakota's room!!
February 11, 2003 - Had my 32 week check-up. Baby is still measuring right on schedule and of course his heartbeat was again in the 150s!! Unfortunately I'm still gaining weight!! Hopefully I won't gain too much more!! My blood pressure was a little high, higher than normal for me so the doctor advised me of symptoms related to preeclamysia (pregnancy induced high blood pressure.) She wasn't overly concerned but mentioned that I should be aware of the signs. I've also been having trouble with my pelvis, the muscles and ligaments in the front have become inflamed and irritated. So I've been advised to stay off my feet. No walking unless I absolutely have to and according to the doctor the only thing I have to do is go to the bathroom!! I'm down to 2 week appointmentss now, so I go back on Feb 25th. It looks like the end is in sight!! We are so excited.
February 25, 2003 - Well I was supposed to have a check-up today but somehow I over did things yesterday and I'm in agony today. And since Kyle had to work, I didn't feel comfortable driving myself so I rescheduled for Feb 28th.
