My name is Jerry.  My sons, John ,18 and James, 15 moved to South Florida with me after my divorce to build a yacht with me.  We now live on our 65 foot power trawler, Hadar

But now after Katrina, we need your help.   However, we are not asking for charity.  Instead the help we need comes with the likely probability of significant financial return for you.

July 2003
I didn't just one day order the materials and start this boat.   I spent almost a year researching boat designs and construction methods.

I am educated in mechanical engineering and have practical experience in fiberglass fabrication and other skills needed to accomplish a project like this.

Before even purchasing the engineering
diagrams and structural blue prints for Hadar, I built a detailed scale model.  Exact in every detail, exterior and interior.  I built this to visualize every detail of construction.   I wanted to make certain there would be no surprises during construction.

Hal Whitaker, the marine engineer for Hadar, had already taken care of structural integrity and sea worthiness of the design.
August 2003
By August we had the mold done and were ready to start the glass work.  It took 10 drums of polyester resin and one ton of biaxial fiberglass matt just to get the hull skin fleshed out, before any materials for reinforcement had even been delivered.
