| Jerry, How can I even start to say all the things I have to say to you? I can't believe you're gone; it doesn't seem real at all. It was just 4 days ago that you were dancing and having the time of your life at my wedding at this very same location. How can we all be here today at your funeral? Everyone was commenting that we had never seen you look happier, or more proud, than you did on my wedding day. Even the day before, you had a new glow about you that everyone noticed. From what I heard and saw, in the few pictures Eitan gave me, you had a blast with the guys at my house the night before. I was so thrilled to see you join in the fun at Mom and Dad's house as well. You looked so happy in each picture you are in. Scott and I were so glad that you were up there, beside us on the bema, to share our wedding with us. It really meant the world to us and makes it even more special now. Jerry, you have always been a special brother, not only to me but to your 2 brothers-in-law as well. First, there was Ari who helped you and I get through some tough times together. You even told me after his death how much you learned from him about life and loving. You and Ari loved each other as brothers, and I remember how devastated you were when he passed away. Now you are both together. Then there's Scott, who you also loved like another brother. The two of you loved to talk about sports and wrestling every chance you got. I think you must have been one of the biggest Mets and Giants fans ever. Scott told me when you came to the house to try on your tux for the wedding that the two of you, along with Scott's brother Adam, talked sports for about 3 hours. I can only imagine how much fun you all had and I'm glad I wasn't there to get bored by your conversation! You loved and cared for Scott as if you were blood brothers, and the feelings were mutual. Everyone always said how wonderful you were with animals and children, and you were. You loved our dog Avril, then your ferret Buddy and then your cat Bubba. You cared for each of your pets with such love in your heart and were devastated when you had to say goodbye to them, even if temporarily. Scott and I were glad to help you out by taking in Bubba for you and we wanted you to know that we are keeping your precious kitty. We promise to take excellent care of him. He misses you like we do. Ever since Scott & I got engaged, you kept bugging us to make you an uncle. That's all you wanted, was to be Uncle Jerry and to help take care of our children. You were always so happy when you were holding a child in your arms. I promise you that your nieces &/or nephews will grow up with a picture of their Uncle Jerry by their bedside. You know that Scott and I were going to name our daughter Jacqueline Arielle, after Papa Jack and Ari, well now her first name will have a double meaning since we will be naming her after you as well. We will keep having kids until we get a girl, even if we end up with 20! Jerry, I'm not sure if I ever thanked you for helping to take such great care of me when I was sick a few months ago. You came up so many times just to drive me to the doctor or sit with me at home. You were always so good to us whenever we needed you. No matter who it was or what they were going through, you were there for them. You always thought of others before thinking of yourself. We always had so much fun with Mom and Dad on all the trips we took together. We built some wonderful memories together. We had 3 wonderful years in France and other great trips, like the trip to Scotland. I'm so glad that Mom had her video camera in time for that trip. I promise you, Jerry, that all your cousins, Scott & I will remember you and our Cousins Football games. We all loved those games and they will continue throughout the years. We will miss our quarterback. It gives me some comfort to know that you are at peace now. You are no longer in any pain and will never feel anything but joy and happiness again. You are probably up there somewhere with Ari sitting on a big fluffy couch watching a big screen TV and pigging out him on pretzels and you on Oreos. Now you don't have to worry about what you eat! When we were preparing for the wedding and choosing our list of pictures we wanted, I had requested a picture of you and I alone together. Dad told me you requested the same. Since you never got to see my wedding pictures, I want to leave you with a copy of this one that Eitan took for me. Jerry, we did get our picture together at my wedding and I will treasure each and every picture I have of you. I think it's very fitting that you will be placed alongside Papa Jack today. You were named after him and I always felt that he was our guardian angel. Now I have 3 guardian angels: you, Papa Jack and Ari. I know I will be well protected and looked after. Jerry, I love you, I always loved you, and I will always love you forever and I always knew you loved me, even if you didn't always tell me. You will always be my big bro! I LOVE YOU, JERRY!!!! Love Your Little Sis, Lisa |
