Who Is Jeremy Seeley?

I've been writing press releases and news stories for so long, I find it easier than any other form, so don't make fun of me.

LOGAN, Utah -- Jeremy Seeley said he surprised himself when he discovered he will graduate this May. Ive been entrenched in academia for so long, I never thought this day would actually come, he said. During his academic career, Seeley said he had a wide variety of experiences as a journalist, and as an irresponsible college student.

Seeley started his collegiate career as an aspiring computer engineer. It was during his LDS mission in Germany that Seeley found his love for communication. I never knew how important it was for me, until I couldnt do it, he said. I was in Germany for months before I understood a word.

He said his time in Germany showed him that he needed to choose sound bites over data bytes, so he changed majors.

As a broadcast student, Seeley was a reporter and producer with the campus news program, ATV News. He was also a producer for the Kickin Aggie Sports Show. For one year, Seeley was the President of the USU chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. He also had an article about Cricket at USU published on the Hard News Caf, in his only attempt at cyber-fame.

In his final semester, Seeley teamed up with a fellow broadcast student to produce a short film entitled Cream in the only entrepreneurial experience of his life.

Seeley spent two years as a media relations intern at the USU Athletic Department. As an intern, Seeley was the liaison between the softball team and the media. He worked closely with the professional media, writing press releases, arranging interviews with players and coaches, and producing a 28-page softball media guide.

Before coming to USU, Seeley attended Snow College where he was a news reporter for the campus newspaper, The Snowdrift, and a radio D.J. at the student-produced radio station, The Cage.

At press time, Seeley said his career objectives were still unclear, but he plans to get filthy, stinking rich and anonymously donate millions to the USU J-COM department.
