Harvey Potter's Balloon Farm

Here are some questions I have always wanted to ask young people who have read Harvey Potter's Balloon Farm.

If you could have any kind of balloon in the entire universe, without any limits, what kind of balloon would you like to have? Give lots of details.

For example: Today, I'd love to have a purple giraffe balloon, whose neck could turn into a sliding board. And I'd take it up to outer space, near the sun, and slide down the sliding board right into an Olympic sized swimming pool to cool off. I don't know what kind of balloon I'd want tomorrow.

If you had a special talent for growing things like Harvey Potter, what kind of farm would you have?

What/Who is your favorite balloon character?

Raising Dragons

Here are some questions I have always wanted to ask young people who have read Raising Dragons.

If you could find a big egg, without any limits to your imagination, what would you like to hatch out of it? Give lots of details.

For me, I would want a space craft to hatch from it and I would want to see how stars are born.

If Hank, the dragon came to your house,... where would you want to go on vacation with him? What would you do to say farewell to him? Give lots of details. What special fun thing about you would you show/tell him? What would you feed him? What would you say to convince your parents to just let him stay in your room rather than in the garage?

For me, I would ask Hank to take me visit the Queen of Dragon Land. My whole family could come and we could have tea and crumpets and play with all those dragons and I could wear her crown and be Queen for a Day!

Limerick Fun

A limerick is a poem with five lines.

Here is the form:

Line 1 rhymes with Line 2.

A dragon who flew in the air,
Had popcorn tied to his hair.

Lines 3 and 4 rhyme.

When he stopped for a rest,
Said, “MMMM, this does taste best.”

Line 5 rhymes with Line 1 and 2.

Eating popcorn while flying in the air.

Now you try.

If you like, you can send me your answers.
