i keep running into kids i taught last semester. it's funny how much i still like them, hee hee. i still call them "my kids" when i talk to or about them. today i was run down by three 8 year old boys who wanted to say hi and interrogate me about america. as they were about to leave, one of them whispered "by the way, i'm in love with a girl called carolina! she thinks i'm cute." - i have no idea why he decided to share it, but whatever. made me smile. nice not to be forgotten.
i'd also like to mention that katell keineg's song "bop" is absolutely fantastic and huge and chill inducing. thanks, angela. it's on a mix-cd i haven't listened to in months but picked up on a whim. and suddenly bop came up with katell wailing how there is no solace only to suddenly burst into this explosion of drums and voice... yikes. so good.
