Promotional Only CDs

Of all the
countries in the world the USA has been treated to the most Maiden promotional
CDs out there for the collector. Not even in their homeland can a Maiden
fan find the wealth of rare and hard to find promo CDs that the Americans
get. But why is this?
Simply put Maiden rarely release singles in the US. I think the last official relase was Can I Play With Madness in 1988! and that was on vinyl! The sheer size of America makes it difficult for even big bands to make dents on the charts. A band has to shift vast amounts of records and the only way of doing that is getting on the radio. Maiden get very little US radio airplay. So it is up to the band to promote themselves via promo CDs and it will not come as a surprise to learn that when it comes to releasing promo CDs in America Maiden have done not too badly. Every Maiden studio album has its own unique set of promo CDs. First released for the NO Prayer album, there are 19 USA only promo CDs including the two Maiden Hell CDs. This does not include the 11 USA vinly promo 12'' which I will cover at a later date. The promotional Maiden CD is an essential part of any promising fans collections. Such is the demand for these CDs prices are not cheap and finding a whole set is even harder! I have grouped all the promos with the album they have been used to promote.
