The return of Bruce and H to the Maiden fold was more than welcomed. The subsequent release of Brave New World once again showed that Maiden could and can live with the nu bread of metal upstarts and in the live arena few can match them.

… and in promo land Maiden once again didn't let us down.

As expected the majority of promo activity takes place in the UK then the USA with other countries such as Canada and Japan coming in with their own versions.

1. The Tommy Vance Voice Over UK only promo CDR - see previous listing for this significant Maiden promo

The CD is blue with yellow and silver print and has no picture. The sleeve of the CD, in a slimline jewel case is foldout with the inside a light blue colour with, again, song titles in yellow and various information in white.
This is just your standard, made for radio promo with no frills but still caught a few people out as it was not all that well known.

3. The Wicker Man UK 1 track UK only promo CD was released a couple of weeks prior to the release of The Wicker Man single in the UK. As you'd expect copies where flying out the door. Fans were eager to get hold of a new song well before the actual release date.
This release was nothing out of the ordinary just a standard promo issue for radio and came in a nice dark green custom sleeve, obviously hiding the real sleeve for the chart version, with Iron Maiden in black and edged in gold. The Wicker Man was in gold and at the bottom of the sleeve is printed in gold `` FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY ``
The CD is basically a replication of the sleeve with a gold band center. The sleeve folds out to reveal European Tour Dates for Metal 2000.

The title track weighs in at over 6 minutes so it was edited for radio. The editing took away the chorus part at the beginning and the song starts with the heavy power chord break.
The CD is black with purple print with a purple band center. Track titles are in silver.
The sleeve is excellent! It looks like a giant television screen with a few rather evil faced looking Eddie peering from them. Iron Maiden is in the familiar red with Out Of The Silent Planet in white just under the band's name. The sleeve, coloured black, contains the three UK dates added to the Metal 2000 tour. Strangely enough OOTSP wasn't played at any of them!!!!

Now this US version has one major difference to the UK version. Namely the addition of a line in to the chorus. `` Thy Will Be Done `` is added after `` Your Time Will Come`` it was felt that for American listeners the song was to be given a more commercial feel.
The CD has a matt type, almost like a cloud, finish with the song details in silver. The sleeve is double sided with US tour dates on the rear and the CD promo's cover is a band picture under clouds. Much in the same style as the album cover. The back cover of the CD case is a picture of the Wicker Man with song details etc.
Still widely available in the US. It shouldn't be a problem picking this one up.

6. Out Of The Silent Planet USA only 2 track promo CD - another strange release for the USA market as I don't think that OOTSP was played on the US part of the BNW tour. Nonetheless another promo to get your hands on. The sleeve is that of that European standard release and therefore different from the UK promo and standard sleeve.
