FNB 300 Investment (Spring 2009) 
This course aims at:
| a | Studying the problems involved in investing in a dynamic economy |
| b | Studying the principles that can be applied to issues pertaining to both personal and institutional investment |
| c | Applying theories of investment to the current investing climate |
Upon completion of the course, the students should be able to:
| a | Read and properly interpret economic data and graphs relevant to making investiment decisions; |
| b | Properly interpret financial data, graphs and ratios of corporation relavant to making investment decisions; |
| c | Perform intermediate-level mathematical and statistical techniques to evaluate investment opportunities including discounted cash flow, present values, future values, annuities, bonds and stock valuations, estimating beta coefficient using CAPM and/or other models; |
| d | Analyze return vs risk and determine the best performers when choosing alternative investment instruments; |
| e | Use the computer S/W packages to perform the above procedures for valuation and analysis purposes; |
| f | Demonstrate understanding of portfolio management. |
