There are so many cultures and different groups of people all over the world. Most people think that it's just a 'teen thing', but yet that isn't totally the case. When you think of the word 'subculture' you think of the stereotypes that come along with teen youth today. These stereotypes known by teens as 'preps, punks, skaters, stoners, geeks, nerds, and prudes' aren't the only subcultures out there, and quite sadly is a condensed close minded way of thinking.

But what really is a clique? What forms them and who is to blame when a clique or group gets out of hand?

Naturally, people are attracted to others that are similar to them. People that have the same interests, views, beliefs, and ways to have fun generally seem to group together.

No matter what any of these groups say, there is always a certain 'type' of people that they will not associate with. It doesn't matter how 'open'or friendly they might be, they still seem to discriminate against people that are unlike them. But isn't this the teen way? Well it happens even after the graduation ceremonies of high school and college! Soccer moms? School parents?

Anyways, take a look around to learn more about the subcultures of the United States. You can start by checking out the menu on your left.
