Using side spins

A lot of novice players have a bit of trouble with the side spins.  When using side spin, you have to compensate where you are aiming the cue ball.  For example, if you are cutting a ball in, and using heavy right sides, then you may have to aim to hit an extra inch of the ball, because playing sides knocks the cue ball slightly off course. Also the cue ball tends to spin so much on a long shot that it will actually move to the side you hit the cue ball on, before you hit the object ball.
