8 Ball Break Tips

Using the head ball break

I use the typical head ball break when playing 8 ball and 9 ball. I position the ball about a foot to the right of center and a comfortable distance from the rail so I can rest my bridging hand on the rail when breaking. I try to hit the ball just below center so that I don't follow the break and scratch in a corner pocket. A little backspin will also help to keep the ball around the center of the table after contact.
