Rant of the Moment
Why are there so many e-mail forwards? And why do people make them up? It just doesn't make sense. Who would want to plague thousands and thousands of people's inboxes with letters that are basically threatening their well-being if not sent off to at least 25 other people. Just an FYI: I never forward forwards. I almost always delete them. Let's face it, people, I am paralyzed from the shoulders down, my luck is already bad. I don't think forwarding a story about some boy in Washburn, Illinois will change that, or make my luck better. It is not scientifically proven that this will work. Nor will you receive ANY money from Microsoft, AOL, or any other huge corporation for annoying all of your friends and relatives. That is why I just really don't understand it. It says on the subject line: "this works, I swear!" No one ever saw a check made out to them because they forwarded e-mail. No one. It is a completely made up story. My question is why would someone do this? Why would someone make up a story like this to pass on? Just so they can say, "hehe, I'm the one who made that ridiculous story up about Microsoft giving away money... bwah ha ha ha ha"? They really can't tell anyone. Because they already forwarded that ridiculous e-mail to all of their friends. If they told them they would probably be shunned for life. At least, I would seriously consider shunning them for life if they were my friend. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy the funny stories and spiritually uplifting tales of heroism etc., I'm not like made of stone or something. If I receive something especially funny I might share it to someone verbally later on. It's just the point. Why would someone want you to forward (non funny) e-mail? Why? I really can't think of any logical reasons.
