What does the UJA Symbol Mean?

I am writing of the UJA Symbol so that those who chose to dawn it on their cloths, o proudly display it at their homes may understand that which they see. The UJA Symbol was created in many different versions, but all the versions had one thing in common, their embracement of the three philosophies of Life. The Circle, The Triangle, and The Square. The way of the Jedi may be equated with a triangle, circle, and square because of its spiritual relevance though many different cultures, and more importantly its impact on the Martial Philosophies of the Jedi.

Through my embracement of the Jedi Philosophies and through my meditation I had come to understand there was more to this entire path then that which is readily available. So I sought other means to broaden that which I had already seen through the eyes of George Lucas. After years of study and thorough understanding of the Jedi way I was brought back into the past by an old notebook having this written in it:

"The body should be triangular, the mind circular. The triangle represents the generation of energy and is the most stable physical posture. The circle symbolizes serenity and perfection, the source of unlimited techniques. The square stands for solidity, the basis of applied control."

After meditating on this for some time I realized this is the Steel spine if every Jedi. And so I began my quest to create a symbol displaying such properties, one equal to the properties displayed by every Jedi. You know the symbol; now further understand what it means. To further break down what it is that the individual portions of the UJA Symbol:

Triangle - is power of harmonization; body, mind, spirit; past, present, future; heaven, earth, humankind; signifies the flow of the Force, creation of energy and initiative; The beginning distance and stance of Jedi Martial Technique

The triangle is used to illustrate the idea of water flowing. Water always takes the path of least resistance, and this is what Jedi should be doing as well. As Jedi we are not only defenders of Justice and peace, but also instruments of the Force. The Force will not lead you wrong, and in its trust, does the Jedi find the path f least resistance; both in Physical instance, as well and Emotional and mental. If we look at a triangle as having two angles at the bottom and one at point, we can imagine the two lower angles representing a very firm, stable base, and the lead point being the direction of a properly focused mind. The triangle can be compared to the entering techniques of the Jedi Martial Tradition because it gives the impression of direct movement, without a turn, just a quick forward technique. Sometimes the direct responses to an attack are very effective, and are excellent for unbalancing your partner, this is something embraced largely by majority of Jedi in history. And one can see its obvious advantages in life.

Circle - The spiral movements of Jedi Martial technique; unity, serenity, perfection; signifies liquid dimension, source of unlimited techniques; The Eternal Universe; Life.

We commonly hear the phrase "fight fire with fire", but I always thought that this was the opposite of the philosophy of the Jedi. I think a more suitable phrase would be to fight fire with water. As Jedi we should never hit our opponent, never strike out or take the offensive, no direct movements can be Jedi. The idea of the circle is to be like a ball, rolling with the attacks, ever moving and flowing with the will of the Force. Circles are not stable in the stationary sense like the square, but they are stable in that they never fall. This is because they constantly move. Try to make a ball fall over... So not only does the circle represent the Jedis embracement of the Force, but also the gifts of balance and movement rendered through cultivation of the circular movements of the Living Force.

Square - earth, water, fire, air; signifies solid dimension, applied control based on form and solidity; The explosive power of the Force used n conjunction with Jedi Martial Technique; like extension and the expanding echo the Force.

The square is a very stable, very strong position, but it is unlike the triangle and circle in that it lacks movement. We often start off in a "square" frame of mind, being very calm and neutral. A Jedi is taught from the beginning to embrace such a mind state. As it allows for one to Mindfully assess his current state. From here, if an attack comes (Physical or metaphorical), the Jedi can be ready to react, to turn into a triangle and counter by entering, or by becoming a circle, to harmonize with the attack and put him down that way. Weather Physical or none, this is a primary Jedi Concept.

In Shinto cosmology, the Circle, Triangle, and Square relates to a belief of Following the blueprints created by the Kami (Force), It is believed that when the three symbols are combined together and embraced entirely they created existence from the will of the force. So thus another course through the Symbols many layers are revealed, and now we see more clearly the path to Unification with the Force. The next thing for you to do is simple, study the information above, then meditate on it and expand its meaning to you, and learn what it has to teach you.
