Today, JEB Stuart is the most ethnically diverse high school in Fairfax County, with the student body representing nearly 70 different countries around the world. This diversity has enriched the culture of the school in many ways, but also presents new challenges.  With two-thirds of its students being second language learners, a high mobility rate, and a high poverty rate, JEB Stuart High School has many obstacles to overcome on a daily basis.

But, we can make a difference!

In honor of our
30th Reunion, we have developed the Class of 1973 Legacy Project to help support financially needy JEB Stuart students by contributing to several targeted areas identified in collaboration with the Parent Teacher Student Association. These programs support academic scholarship for Stuart students, as well as their participation in various organized athletic activities.

Contributions to support academic scholarship may be used to offset the fees required for students to take
tests for advanced placement classes and the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, or for the JEB Stuart Community Scholarship Fund. Contributions made to support Stuart athletics will be used to assist students -- who otherwise wouldn't have the funds to take part in school sports -- to purchase equipment, clothing, and transportation. Contributions can be directed to the JEB Stuart Athletic Boosters or to Crew Boosters.

For additional information about each of these options, please go
here.

Your contribution in any amount is appreciated!

If you wish to make a contribution by check, simply go here and print out the contribution form and mail it to us with your check made out to the JEB Stuart High School PTSA.

To make a contribution by credit card, please click the PayPal button. If you have a preference for how your donation should be allocated, please indicate that on the payment form, or simply email us with your instructions.

But, we need your help! Please go here to see who is missing and let us know if you can help us find them:

New Announcements
If you have reviewed your listing in the draft Classmate Directory and Update Booklet and wish us to make any changes, please let us know here (and if the listing is okay, let us know that, too!).  (3/18/04)

Our sincere thanks to those of you who have contributed to the
Class of 1973 Legacy Project. Your generosity is much appreciated! (11/15/03)

Wondering
who attended the Reunion? You can see the list here. Please help us to make the list as accurate as possible by letting us know of any errors or omissions. (10/25/03)

The Reunion Committee is sincerely touched by the many expressions of appreciation--both for the Reunion and for the website--that we've received from our Classmates this week. The fact that the Reunion was such a meaningful event for so many of you is what makes all of our efforts worthwhile. We suggest that a tangible and significant way to express your appreciation is to
make a donation to the Class of 1973 Legacy Project, which will help fund initiatives that support financially needy Stuart students in both academic and athletic activities. We realize that things were a bit hectic both before and during the Reunion, so have extended the deadline for making contributions to November 15, 2003, to give everyone who wishes to an opportunity to contribute.  For additional details, go here (or see righthand column). (10/24/03)

Attention all lurkers from other classes! (We know you're out there . . . ) Don't you wish you could be listed in our Classmate Directory and Update booklet, too? Well; okay.  We're making a one-time offer to include you in a "Friends of the Class" section. However, you must complete the Classmate Survey ASAP in order for us to list you. (10/24/03)

We've been adding more
Reunion photos every day to the Classmate Photos section of the website! Did you take any photos that you can share with us? Please let us know! (Or, just email them to us.) If you took pictures with regular film, we suggest getting a CD along with your prints so you can easily share the photos with us electronically. (10/24/03)

Classmate Photos
I'm addicted to the website! Will I have to go "cold turkey" now that the Reunion is over? Nahhh . . . We've gotten kind of addicted to watching the number on the homepage web counter go higher and higher.  So, we've decided to continue this as a Class of 1973 website.  Of course we won't be updating it quite as frequently as we have been, but we hope that the website will continue to be a welcoming (and useful) community for our Classmates and their friends. If you have suggestions for new features, let us know!

When will the Classmate Directory and Update Booklet be ready?
Good question! We wish we knew the answer to that one ourselves. Of course we're hoping that it won't be too long. Before we finalize it, though, we want to give people another chance to include their update (plus, the Editor claims that she has to focus on her day job at least a little bit now, which is unfortunately interfering with her Reunion-related work!)

I wasn't in the Class of 1973, but most of my friends were/I'm a Class of 1973 wanna be/etc. Is there any way I can get a directory?
Thanks to our highly sophisticated electronic surveillance system, we are aware that "friends" from other classes have been visiting this website (okay, we heard it through the grapevine).  We're so flattered by the attention that we are willing to list you in the Directory under a "Friends" section. In order to be listed, however, you must complete the Classmate survey (only other Stuart alumni, please--unless you can make a really good case to us for including you!).

Is there some way I can get contact information for people before the Directory comes out?
Of course! You can still contact us to request contact information for classmates.

How will you protect my privacy if the Classmate Directory is available online?
In order to protect your privacy,  the directory will be distributed as a *.pdf Adobe Acrobat document; there will not be a public link to the directory from the website, although we are exploring the possibility of a password-protected link from the website.

I didn't attend the Reunion, but still want to receive a Classmate Directory and Update book. Can I? Sure! As long as you complete the Classmate Survey you will be able to receive a copy of the Directory.

I don't want to fill out the Classmate Survey; can I still get a copy of the Classmate Directory?
Uhhhh, like we've already told you . . . no!
