New Announcements

Good news! It looks like the weather will be great for the
Picnic on Sunday. If you're wondering what the school renovations look like, be sure to stop by as we've arranged for us to have access to the building. All classmates, families, and friends are welcome! (10/17/03)

Tic-toc! The clock is ticking. Especially for those of you who are traveling to the Reunion from out of town, we've put together a 1-page
printable summary of Reunion Weekend Details. To access the file, click here. (10/15/03)

Have you been to Clyde's before? If not, you may have trouble finding your way there as it's a bit difficult to find. You can find a link to
detailed directions to Clyde's, along with a map, on the Travel page. We strongly suggest that you review these directions before starting out! (10/15/03)

Several of you have asked us which are
the hotels where classmates will be staying. But we don't know! If you will be staying in hotel during the reunion, please let us know which one by going here. This information will also make it easier for us to reach you if we need to. (10/12/93)

Questions about the Reunion? Check out the new list of
Frequently Asked Questions in the right-hand column. If you have additional questions you would like us to answer, just email the Committtee. (10/12/03)

Ray Crozier tells us that there is still room available for those interested in playing in the Saturday
golf game -- If you would like to join the group, please contact him ASAP (since the tee times need to be reserved, you must contact Ray in advance in order to play). All are welcome! For more info, please go here. (10/6/03)

We have been working closely with the JEB Stuart PTSA to develop a
Class of 1973 Legacy Project to give classmates the opportunity to contribute to initiatves that support financially needy Stuart students in both academic and athletic activities. For all the details, and to join your classmates in contributing to these very worthy efforts, go here. (9-19-03)

Especially for those of you who will be traveling to the Reunion, we have now added some
travel information to the website. Click here for information about hotels, maps, and weather reports. (8/26/03)

Do you have
pictures--either recent or from the "old days"--that you would like to share with your classmates? Send them to us and we'll figure out a way to share them here on the website and/or at the Reunion. Click here for info on how to send us your photos. (8/17/03) (Pics now posted; go here)

Classmate Updates
Our classmates sure have been up to some awfully interesting things! Do you know who:

Has summited over 100 major
       mountain peaks and was one
of the last 2 people (with his
wife) to stand on the St.
       Helens Summit before it
       exploded?
Served in the Presidential Honor
       Guard during the Ford and
       Carter administrations?
Is a high school chemistry and
       physics teacher who loves
       to play the drums whenever
       she can?
Was voted Entreprenuer of the
Year for 2002 by the Vienna-
      Tysons Regional Chamber of
      Commerce?

Sorry; we won't tell you. But, you will find the answers to these and many other questions about our classmates in the Classmate Directory and Update booklet -- and at the Reunion!
Classmate Photos
Can I just show up at the door, even if I didn't RSVP first? We will definitely welcome you if you show up at the door! However, because we are making nametags in advance for all attendees and their guests, the registration process will go much more quickly for everyone if the number of "surprise" guests for whom we have to make nametags onsite is kept to a minimum. So, if at all possible, please let us know that you may show up so we can have a nametag ready for you.

Can I pay for my ticket(s) at the door? Yes, we will accept payments at the door. However, we strongly encourage people to pay in advance if at all possible, in part because we will be basing the final catering order only on the revenues we have actually received (we don't want to get stuck with the bill for counting any chickens before they're hatched!).

What forms of payment will you accept at the door?
We will accept cash, check, or money order payments only. We will not be able to accept credit card payments at the door (we can only accept credit card payments online through Paypal).

What's the "dress code" for the Reunion?
Dress codes are so High School! We're discouraging people from feeling that they have to get all gussied up for the Reunion. There is really no need to feel that you must wear a fancy frock,  or a suit and tie (business or "dressy" casual will be fine). However, if you just can't resist wearing that new "little black dress" that's fine with us too! (Even for you guys . . .).

What's the program for the Reunion party?
Program? What program? We're keeping things unstructured and casual. No sit-down dinner, no long-winded speeches, no drawings for prizes you don't want, no silly awards for who has the most grandchildren or looks most like they did in high school. Just lots of time for meeting, mingling, and catching up (and maybe a few announcements!).

How much food is there going to be at the Reunion Party? Should I eat dinner before I come?
Several different kinds of hot hors d'ouevres will be passed throughout the evening (all previously taste-tested and approved by the Reunion Committee!). Plus there will be crudites, chips/pretzels, and a cake. Whether all that is enough for you depends on the size of your appetite. If you wish to eat dinner at Clyde's beforehand, though, be sure to make reservations. They tell us it's very busy there this time of year because it's "Lobster Month" (who knew!).

I'm feeling nervous/anxious/scared about the Reunion. Help!
Our resident psychologist assures us that these feelings are perfectly natural! Many of us are approaching the Reunion with a combination of anticipation and apprehension. We may wonder whether (or how!) classmates will remember us, or feel concerned about how we look or whether people might judge us in some way. Or, we might be worried that we won't know anyone there. Plus, maybe the approaching Reunion has revived some of the not-so-good memories from High School along with the good ones.

The important thing is not to let these feelings prevent you from attending an event that you are very likely to truly enjoy. If you think you might be more comfortable attending with an old friend, look at the list of people coming and see if there is someone you would like to connect with in advance (we can give you their email address if you don't already have it). Perhaps you would feel more comfortable if you had an "official role" to keep yourself busy with while others are arriving. Just let us know, and we'll give you a task helping the Reunion Committee. Finally, feel free to contact the Committee if you just need a "pep" talk!

Planning the Reunion has reminded us of what a nice group of people we have in our Class (and they just seem to be getting nicer!). Even if you don't know many people when you arrive at the Reunion, you are sure to make new friends before you leave.

What's the deal with the picnic?
The Picnic will be in JEB Stuart Park, which is right across the street from the school, starting around noon. We'll provide soft drinks (e.g., colas, juice, water) and paper goods (cups, plates, napkins, cutlery). Bring your own food; if you're local, you might want to bring a dish to pass/share. We don't have any planned activities, so feel free to bring footballs, frisbees, etc. We've made arrangements for the school to be open for restroom access and so people can look around inside a bit. If it rains, we'll just hold the "picnic" in the cafeteria (right now, it looks like the weather will be great though!). Family and friends are welcome!

How will you protect my privacy if the Classmate Directory is available online?
In order to protect your privacy,  the directory will be distributed as a *.pdf Adobe Acrobat document; there will not be a public link to the directory from the website, although we are exploring the possibility of a password-protected link from the website.

I can't attend the Reunion, but still want to receive a Classmate Directory and Update book. Can I? Sure! As long as you complete the Classmate Survey you will be able to receive a copy of the Directory.

I don't want to fill out the Classmate Survey; can I still get a copy of the Classmate Directory?
Uhhhh, like we've already told you . . . no!
