Howdy, Y'all..... Welcome to Jean's Tree House
This is a work in progress so keep checking back periodically.   I have census records, land deeds, marriage records, birth and death records and many other things I've managed to collect over the last 10 years that I am going to try and incorporate into my treehouse.  I also have some World War II pictures of planes and Soldiers my father knew but he didn't put names on the back of the pictures, so I am going to add a page with those pictures to see if anyone can identify their family members.

Family names I've researched over the years are TIchenor, Campbell, Tinsley, Shepherd, Fletcher, Heffington, Vance, McCreary/McCrary, Broadhurst and Tarwater.  I have been at a stand still with my Broadhurst and Tarwater research since both of my Grandmother's were born prior to census records naming all folks in the household and I haven't found any probate or will naming them as yet.

So far, I have been able to research my Fletcher lineage back to 1780's Virginia - Montgomery and Lee Counties; Missouri - Howard, Ray and Buchanan Counties; Texas - Kaufman, Rockwall, Denton, Terry and Lubbock Counties; Oklahoma - Choctaw, Talequah and a couple of others; Indiana - Franklin County.

My Broadhurst and Tarwater family members were in Ray County, MO.  Ellen Broadhurst Fletcher migrated with her husband from Ray County, MO to Rockall, Texas in 1852.
Rebecca Tarwater Fletcher migrated with her husband Solomon Fletcher from Franklin County, IN in abt 1818 to Ray County, MO where she died in 1850.   There are other Boradhurst and Tarwaters in the Ray County, MO area but I haven't been able to tie any of them to my Rebecca and the same with the Broadhursts.

My first Tichenor ancestor was Martin Tichenor who took the oath of allegiance at New Haven Colonony in 1644. From there my Tichenor's have been in Newark, NJ and onto Kentucky, Nelson, Spencer and then Franklin Counties.

My Campbell family was also in Kentucky - Shelby then Franklin Counties.  Later migrating from Franklin County, to Wylie, Collin County, Texas and Hunt County, Texas.

My Tinsley and Shepherd families were in Shelby County, KY.

My Heffington's were in MO, IL and then on to Rockwall, Kaufman later Rockwall County, Texas.

My Vance family members were in IL, then onto Collin County, Texas in 1850; Kaufman and Rockwall County, Parker County, and  Dallas County and other counties in that general area.

And my McCrary/McCreary's were first in North Carolina, Missouri then Texas.  I have only just begun my research on this line so I will not be adding anything for them as yet.

The first thing I completed on this project was a tribute page to my sweet daddy who fought in World War II.  So I hope you'll check that page out as well.  He was a strong man with great character but had the heart of a teddy bear.  I miss him terribly.  I was blessed with two of the most wonderful parents a child could ever hope to have in their lives.

I hope you will get comfortable and climb around for a bit.  Make sure you sign my guest book and let me know you were here and, if you have any questions or if you think we are family lines tie together, please contact me.  I'd love to hear from you.
