When I got back to my desk, I was shaking all over! I answered the first email that came up ... Stacy! Said "GUESS WHAT?!" .... of course, she guessed! Hit the nail on the head! Then I realized that I needed a creative way to tell Jason. I got permission to leave work and I went to the mall. I grabbed my cousin, Shannon and we went shopping! We first bought a pair of Baby K-Swiss, then we bought several sets of newborn clothes to surprise the *new* grandparents!
That night, Jason had planned on working with some of the other volunteer fire fighters on the Christmas float, but I managed to pretend I was sick enough to need him to pick up some medicine and bring it to me first. He did ... what a great husband!
When he got home, there was a small white box on the coffee table wrapped with a bow. I told him to go ahead and open it, it was an early Christmas present and he could probably go ahead and use it ....
In the box, there was a note that read: Daddy, I can't wait to meet you in August! Love you, Baby Ruger
He kind of had this funny look on his face until he saw the shoes .... He cried, we cried, he screamed with JOY, we hugged, we cried and smiled. This was it! This was our new family! |
