From Weeks 16 - 18 ...
Week 16 weight = 133 pounds
This first picture here (above) is Lilli at 16 weeks and 1 day. You can see her face and body. It seems as though she is looking over your left shoulder.
So I am looking pregnant these days ... more so than I have been. At least I don't look "just FAT!" My cravings are back to normal. Not that I really craved anything in particular (except chinese broccoli) .... but I am surely not eating as much as I did my first trimester! Where I was eating SIX MEALS a day .. I am back down to three. Most of the time, I eat normal proportions too! According to my five books and the endless amount of data on the Internet, Lilli should be about 5 1/2 inches and weighing in at about 7 ounces. She's busy flexing her arms and legs - movements that I notice more and more. Her blood vessels are visible through her thin skin and her ears are now in position and stand out fromher head. Myelin (a protective covering) is beginning to form around her nerves, a process that will continue for a YEAR after she is born. Her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place.

GUESS WHAT?!?!?! IT'S A GIRL! Lillian Grace Ruger (we will call her Lilli) "Dad" and I are SO excited! We found out at an appointment we snuck in at 16 weeks! Our favorite OB let us have an early peek and told us what it was! A GIRL! Jason and I went shopping that very same night and he picked out the cutest outfit for her to wear home! We are now ready and anxious to start registering at baby stores and setting up the nursery. We are going to go with a brown (chocolate) and pink theme ... no teddy bears and rabbits. Just pretty colors. Shades of pink. I like that ... I was never a "theme" kind of person. Since we've already painted the room a warm chocolate color ... all we have to do now is add the pink and the furniture. :-)
I feel her moving all the time now ... especially when I have music playing loud in my car or if I go somewhere that is loud - it probably has a low-lying bass thud that she feels ... she responds! In this picture (to the right) I think she looks like my sister, Wendy. She has her cheek bones and round face. Jason agrees. This 4D picture was taken at 17 weeks and 4 days - at our "detailed ultrasound appointment." I just love seeing her on the screen! Also, she is a bit camera shy ... hopefully that will change because I am sure that there will be TONS of cameras around for a while!
