Weeks 25 - 30 ...
Weight at 29 weeks = 158 pounds
So I believe that I have gotten over my obsession with my weight gain.  I have come to the conclusion that there is nothing more I can do to control it, short of living on figs and fruit - which cannot be healthy for Lilli.  If you haven't noticed, I have gained 38 pounds.  Typically, my doctor would be concerned, but she smiles and tells me "It's okay!" ... she claims that I was underweight to begin with and that my body will naturally gain as much weight as the baby needs to be healthy and nothing less.

That said, these SMALL maternity clothes that I have are getting a wee-bit tight!  The maternity stores claim that these clothes should fit for the enitre pregnancy - they don't.  I still have 2.5 months to go and my boobs and my butt are getting too big to these clothes!  A friend let me borrow some of her maternity clothes and when I opened the box, I laughed when I saw that some of the bottoms had a slit in the wasit band on both sides!  I didn't get it.  I do now!

So, we've tackled the weight issue, let's move on to bigger issues like - STRETCH MARKS!  Yes, I am still worrying myself over these things!  I have a few - on my boobs.  None on my belly, back, hips or legs yet.  I still lube up every night with Palmers Cocoa Butter and in the morning now, I use Palmers Spray Oil for itchy skin (it soothes immedialey!)  Also - I give tons of credit to my favorite body soap (shower use) ... Olay's Shea Butter Liquid Soap.  I swear by it.  Once you use it, you will never want to go back to your original soap or want to venture out to look for a new kind .... anything compared to this is "damaging" to your skin.  Even if it really isn't, you just have to trust me.  At least try the small sized bottle ....
You know, before I mentioned that Lilli moved a lot ... she moves more now than ever!  She is about 3 pounds right now and feels like a water buffalo in my belly!  I swear she is trying my patience even INSIDE the womb.  :-)

She always finds her "spot" under my right rib cage.  She sets her butt there .. she is no longer breech.  It always excites me when she moves into another position - for one, it feels good to be able to bend over a little more and two, it's a relief to get her out of my ribs.  Because she is always in the same position, she tends to kick, punch and poke the same spot over and over again.  I think it was bruised for a while, but feels better on some days more than others.  Some people have tried to give me advice on how to move her "just nudge her until she moves" ... this does not work with my child!  She even pushes back as to say "Hey mom!"
I start my two week cycle this week (at 30 weeks.)  So I go every two weeks, instead of every four until (I believe) my ninth month, where I go every week.  I am seeing the OBGYN group at Duke and I have really enjoyed and liked all of them!  I especially like Connie Ostrowski, NP and Anne Ford, MD.  Connie was the first person we saw and she lives in the same area as we do.  Every time I have seen her, she has given us an ultrasound - which is always fun!  I made an appointment with her for my 32 week appointment.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that she will give me an u/s then too!

I stopped making Jason go to the appointments.  I let him if he has off, but there is no reason for him to go right now.  It's literally a 10 minute appointment unless I have to get a shot or get my blood drawn.  Same routine, weigh in, blood pressure, hear Lilli's heartbeat, check my measurements to make sure I am on target, and ask questions.  That's it.
Jason, his dad and my dad have been working on projects around the house, in prepartation for Lilli (and a little extra comfort for me!)

Jason and I have talked about having a screened-in porch since we moved into the house.  That is why we built the "lower" deck.  Well, we talked about it and we decided that it would be a great place to move the litter box and we would install a cat/dog door so they can enjoy the outside too!

I'm really excited to see it finished, I know it will be enjoyed by all!  Especially on those cool fall nights or breezy summer days ....
In the mean time, I will be working on the nursery.  We have the crib and a dresser/changing table, tons of clothes and misc. things ... I can't wait to start!  The carpet cleaning people are coming this weekend - I can start when the carpet is dry!

We have gotten tons of great things at our baby showers and we thank everyone for helping us out!  We couldn't have done it without you!  Thank you!
New Symptoms: Ever heard of Braxton Hicks contractions?  Well, they aren't fun.  They aren't all that painful, but if you absolutley cannot stop what you are doing and relax for a mintue, they can be very uncomfortable!

Swelling - No more wedding ring, no more wrist-watch, ... and now I am having a hard time finding comfy shoes (even flip-flops) to wear!  Wearing sneakers or shoes that tie are OUT OF THE QUESTION, since it feels like whatever I ate last will spill out of me if I bend over, IF I can bend over!

Heartburn - This has been only a minor problem up until now.  I have constant heartburn!  I am still drinking tons of water and going through Rolaids Soft Chews like I have an addiction.  Nothing helps.  I will need to talk to my doctor at my next visit.  I even wake up and have to chomp on these Rolaids before I can go back to sleep.  It's horrible!  If the myth is true, Lilli will have long locks of thick hair .... Rapunzel!

Movement - Since Lilli is bigger, I thought she wouldn't be moving as much.  Yeah right!  Before it was "cute and fun" ... now, it just plain HURTS!  I feel like she is going to pop through my skin at any moment.

But don't get me wrong ... I love being pregnant, good and bad, it's such an amazing adventure!  Being a vessel of life is something to be proud of ... and Thank God for - which I do constantly!
