| As our son was growing up we told him we would take him for a whirlwind trip to Europe when he was old enough to carry his own luggage (this was before we knew of wheels on suitcases). When he was 11 we took that trip in 1981. We packed as much into 27 days as we possibly could. One highlight was riding a cablecar to the top of the Schilthorn (9748 ft high) in Switzerland. The panorama on a clear day is phenomenal, breath-taking -- beautiful vistas of the higher mountains, the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. As we moved around the observation deck there was a mounted bronze plaque with the verse (in English) "Fear God, (as in awe and profound reverence) and give Him glory" in bold print, and the remainder of the verse (Revelation 14:7) followed. It so echoed what was already in our hearts. Yes, the beauty of this world is good reason to worship. |

| Burano, Italy A 40 minute ferry ride from Venice, Burano is a splash of color as seen in its brilliantly painted houses along the canal. This is also the place to go to buy lace, and visit the lace museum. (For some reason this did not scan in well. The print is of the same quality as my other paintings.) |
