Daniel
turned the big five on July 13th. We had his birthday party almost
two months early due to most of his friends going back to the States for
the Summer and the expected arrival of Joseph (who made his way into this
picture!). He picked a 101 Dalmation Party this year. Nice
change from Thomas!
Daniel's
been going to Pre-kindergarten since March of 98, but this year he started
in Kindergarten and is a "big kid" now. Here he is meeting his classmates
the first day of school. He loves the fact that he gets to ride the big
bus. Over here the kids ride on big city type buses to school.
Definitely not the little yellow buses like in the States. Because
we live so far out he's on the bus for an hour in the morning and about
40 minutes coming home. Kindergarten is only half day here, so there
aren't as many kids coming home when he does. He's having a hard
time following the rule of staying in his seat, but I think we're finally
getting somewhere in that area. He brings home homework on Tuesdays
and Thursdays. It's pretty cute to see him finish lunch and then
get right into his work so he can relax the rest of the day. Oh, the pressures
of being five!
Our
Landlord, Herr Farber, is one of Daniel's favorite people. Here he
is helping him up in the garden this past summer.
